Cape Breton Islands, near Nova Scotia, is considered to be part of the province of Nova Scotia; It is a place you might like to visit. In the center of the island is one of the world’s largest saltwater lakes (Bras d’Or, or “Arm of Gold” in French. It is just to the East of Prince Edward Island. The island is alive with history. In 1775, Michael Mor MacDonald lived his first winter under his upside-down boat. In 1790 they started building boats in a large-scale way, here.

In Google Earth, the water seems to be only 330 feet away, and they can’t be meaning the ocean because that’s 9 miles to the North.
Google Earth shows rocks just to the West of the Delta Sydney, so the ocean water tides must fill that with water during parts of the day. If you follow the river, North, in Google Earth, there’s ice.
When I looked on tripadvisor.com, they said that the best rate from Phoenix to Sydney was $687.

One five-star rating said, “Lovely place” and said it was “Gorgeous”. The kids really loved it, it’s clean and felt luxurious with beautiful grounds. The photograph looks really nice with large expanses of green grass.
Cape Breton is noted for their fiddle music, which has traditional roots. The Cabot Trail Scenic Drive is one of the attractions which caused a great increase in the numbers of automobiles that arrived into this island. The route travels 185 miles in length, and it loops completely around; it was completed in 1932. They use a distinctly different mountain logo on the road signs rather than using the traditional Route Designation markers.
Another draw is the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Both the Western and Eastern areas pass along a very rugged coastline.
If you go to Google Earth and go to the top of Cape Breton island, you’ll see a little green tree symbol. Click on it and you’ll be able to see some of the magnificent views you’ll get if you drive through the park.

There are hundreds of hiking trails in the area, and lots of places where you can get away from it all, finding peace and rest from the rat race of cars, smog and pollution. The interesting mix of both pine and deciduous trees makes this a gorgeous place to visit in the fall.
